Non-Dungeon Drop gear

I only get to play WoW for about an hour at a time, which isn't enough to form up a party and run a dungeon. It got me thinking about what gear I actually could get. This is my attempt at making a list of gear that should be obtainable by any hunter through reputation rewards, questing, BoE drops and crafted items.

If I've missed something or miscalculated HAEPs let me know below, and I'll try to add it. Info was obtained from wow-loot.com and my own searches at wowhead.com

Points are calculated using the generic HAEP values below. The first number is total HAEP, second is pure DPS without MP5 or int. For weapons the second number is the HAEP for just stats (leaves out DPS). You can find additional factors (and a HAEP addon) at this link.

It's a cool idea for people with extremely limited playtime like yours, but a large number of the "quest rewards" you listed unfortunately involve completing 5-man dungeons.

Yeah... There's some exalted rep grinds there too which would require heroics. I did put all the requirements so sorting through for the amount of effort you want to put forth isn't too hard. Basically, I got lazy checking everything in the end. Main reason I posted it is that someone with a bit more motivation can just add on the dungeon drops and it's a complete list.

I just ran out of steam.

It's a very nice list, actually...kind of reminds me of the list (I think it was Isuiln's? Can't remember >_<) of "best blues" pre-TBC- a list of blues that rivalled t1 in terms of agi. Way to go!

What exalted grind requires Heroics? Off the top of my head, there's a non-Heroic instance for all the factions that gives rep past Revered.

Can't claim that one. I'm usually around, spreading what info I can, but when it comes to helpful guides, lists, spreadsheets, etc., I'm fairly useless.

Yeah, so far as I know, that's true. I'm into revered with everything but Honor Hold, and haven't been in a heroic yet!

But, for the purposes of the original post, even revered is a problem. I think the only factions you could get to revered without setting foot in a dungeon is Kurenai, Aldor, and Scryers (by questing and grinding blood elves/demons outdoors).

Consortium as well can be exaltified without dungeon-crawling, either through Obsidian Warbeads in Nagrand or Zaxis insignias in Netherstorm.

This might not be your cup of tea, but you MIGHT consider getting a group of friends together and doing arena PvP. Even a poorly ranked team gets points, and you could play something like 2-3 matches a day. Over the course of several months, you could earn several VERY good upgrades from Gladiator gear. More than your required matches may not make a difference, since it's based on skill and not time put in.

You could also do the occasional battleground (and likely should) since there are also pvp friendly trinkets/etc from honor rewards.

If you play in a battlegroup with good population, and at times that aren't completely dead, you should also be paired with people that have similar ratings as you. This means you likely will not be continually steamrolled by paladin/warrior pairs, etc, and SHOULD face teams which you have a decent chance of beating if you play well.

I say this because while I kindof suck at PvP, it's also been some of the most fun I've ever had in this game. If you haven't tried it with FRIENDS (ventrilo or other voice chat helps immensely ), it's an entirely different game. You might like it.

/edit - and if anyone on Hyjal (alliance) has room in an arena for a hunter, I'd love a chance, hehe... guildies seem to have already formed their teams, and I'm not sure where to look. (Advice on finding/making a team is also appreciated )

<--- Didn't know this. But doesn't matter much to me since I can't run dungeons whether heroic or not... I did know there were other reps that could be done soloing, but to lazy to differentiate the gear. Of course for everyone but me, it's still useful. So my laziness pays off.

I did spend a lot of time in the BGs before 2.0, but I prefer questing. Once I'm done/bored with that, I shall once again be slaying horde for my next set of upgrades.

On my feral druid, I made huge amounts of gold doing all the quests in the Outlands. I only have a very, very few quests left to do. By the time I was "done," I was more than halfway to getting my epic mount.

However, ever since Blizz announced its intention to give the druids a quest for epic flying form, I stopped saving my gold and started beefing up my secondary character, a paladin.

Anyway, I also look forward to a lot of new quests coming out soon so I can burn through them for fun and gold.

PS I have a suggestion, though. I noticed that netherweave cloth sells like hot cakes. So, I would grind the ogres in nagrand for them. You also can get more beads and sample powders that way, also, killing a few birds with one stone, so to speak.
