PTR, Testing And You and Me

![]() Howdy folks! ![]() Kilraq's the name and testing is going to be my game. Wasn't fortunate enough to get into the WOTLK beta, but I do have a LOT of time, the PRT Realm is up and my characters are being transfered right now. I know the PTR is about a week behind the beta, but I want set forth this offer to everyone who doesn't have say... the time I do. So I will leave it simply like this. Leave your name, your subject you wanted tested, how you want it tested and what exactly you need to know in detail. I will do my best to facilitate all requests to the best of my ability. I've been itching to test out the new talents and builds, so I will gladly test it all for you as well so I can get more immersed in sides of the hunters builds I dont often dabble in. Name: Ketari Question: How long does our mana last with various shot rotations and specs Detailed Info Needed: In Hawk aspect, how long does it take you to go OOM (or mana percentage after 180 seconds of testing, if you prefer/you're not going OOM) with the following: BM spec, steady spam BM spec, serpent sting and steady MM spec, steady spam MM spec, serpent sting, chimera shot (to sustain serpent) and steady SV spec, steady spam SV spec, serpent sting, explosive shot, steady *Please take all mana conservation talents in the tree and use your pet with BM to trigger invigoration. *Please note mp5, haste percentage, intelligence and maximum mana in each spec. *It would be useful if you were to use mana oil and a mageblood potion, please note if you do so (and include them in your mp5 figure) Screenshots needed: no Thanks in advance.

Test were done without Hawk or Hunters mark. Did a retest now that I got no lag in Theramore on the Surv numbers. Posting em here. DPS 1899 (was about 2000, but the last few ticks of serpent made recount track it off) Total dmg done. 313590 Explosive Shot = 124251 dmg. 59.7% crit, 40.3 normal Auto Shot = 98007. 54.0 crit, 46.0 norm Steady Shot = 78938 58.5% crit, 41.5 norm Serpent = 12394 dmg Pet dmg done 38228 DPS 239.5 Melee = 29797 Claw = 8431 Only claw was activated. lvl 1 Test dummie in Theramore used. Just noticed I got the no mana regen bug somewhere during this test. Take the time till OOM with a grain of salt. Redid my Steady only OOM test. Time till OOM. 190.83s 3m20s Total dmg done. 300639 Breakdown is... Steady = 186199. 52.8% crit, 47.2% norm Auto = 114440 52.8% crit, 47.2% norm. Pet dmg was 39756 78.# melee, 21.7% norm Melee = 31136 Claw = 8620 BM spec http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunt...00000000000000 BM test Time till OOM. 104.44s. Or 1min20secs Total dmg 163817 Steady shot = 98039 50.8% crit, 49.2% norm Auto Shot = 65778 56.9% crit, 43.1% norm Pet (Claw only) DPS 61841 (592.6 dps) Melee = 41100 (65.5%) 67.0% crit. 33.0 norm Claw = 20741 (33.5%) 69.8% crit 30.2 norm And cause I know there were people wondering about this... It is just set for testing the OOM factor while giving the biggest dps increase to the skills used. I feel your pain. Been in the PTR copy queue the whole day. I shouldn't have slept this night and signed up right as it opened I guess!
Give me PTR access already! ![]() Btw, there should target dummies in the major cities, so Dr. Boom can be retired. |

Pets/Mounts when used are learned, however the items themselves are not "consumed". Not yet if erasing them from your inventory makes you loose the mount/pet yet, but will let you all know what I find out there. 2. Achievements. Blizz did a "decent" job at retroactively awarding us points for past achievements, but this part of the system still needs work. Check out all your inventory items for Heroics in particular. Right now even having an item from a Heroic boss doesn't seem to award the achievements. Report them in for items from the boss table's people. ![]() Will report more as I have time to spend playing.

Or the target dummies in Org. I'm not at this point really concerned with damage, just mana consumption.
Shandara - Yea, first thing I did was head over to the copy page (six hours). By the time it'd downloaded (slept about six hours and it was done) I checked and it was up to 2 days...

Finally got in!
Been testing on the target dummies in Stormwind (SI:7) Proud weapon to use is Fine Light Crosswbow! 29-29 damage range, 2,70 speed. Been comparing it to my spreadsheet. AP and stats calculated are dead on (for my gear at least). Removed all proc'ing items/gear to get some base damage tested. 0 armour test dummy in Stormwind. Pet out for Focused Fire buff. * Auto-shot: non-crit damage is dead on, crit damage is slightly higher than expected (It's the meta-gem Relentless Es Diamond). Removing my helmet puts it dead on again * Steady Shot: damage dead on * Serpent Sting: dead on damage per tick * Arcane Shot: damage dead on * Multi-Shot: Damage very slightly lower than expected (off by about 5-6 damage). Not sure why. Possibly to do with ammo/base weapon damage calculations. Only reason I can think of is whether it normalizes weapon/ammo damage? I'm currently assuming it does, but changing it to not to puts the numbers almost exactly where they should be. Haven't spec'ed into Aimed Shot or SV/MM yet, so will get that later. |

Not sure how your able to test anything. I am getting HELLACIOUS lag right now.
*sighs* Like I said earlier, will do a full test tonight. This lag is BAD.

That's what I'm doing at the moment in the sheet, it's just that when I don't normalize it the numbers line up.
On pets: Bite - damage is spot on Melee - damage is off and I haven't been able to find out. The calculated damage range doesn't match the in-game one (I de-talented completely to get some baseline figures). 50-70 damage, 2.0 speed 14 pet AP is 1 dps Pet has 726 AP so each attack gets 726/14*2,0 = 103,7 damage extra Wolf, Mood = 125%, Family = 110% Combined is 137,50% modifier (50+103,7)*1,375 = 211,3 (70+103,7)*1,375 = 238,8 In-game says: 202-234 Also, I noted my Wolf now has 150 agility at level 70 (instead of 128 as I had taken from Cheeky's version).
